2022 Katie's Acre

The 2022 Katie's Acre Chardonnay is an exceptional single-vineyard Chardonnay from the Oak Knoll District of Napa Valley. Aromas of tropical nectar and creme brûlée are layered with hints of tangerine and toasted brioche. The wine is bright on the palate with silky flavors of lemon curd and citrus leaf. The vineyard is named after Katie Trefethen, who preserved a large walnut tree under which the Chardonnay vines are planted. The 2022 vintage had lower yields due to drought conditions but resulted in excellent wines with fantastic flavor development due to cooler summer months. This wine is part of Trefethen's Legacy Collection.

The name 'Katie's Acre' refers to a special block of Chardonnay planted around a magnificent old walnut tree on the estate, preserved by winery co-founder Catherine 'Katie' Trefethen. This special block features four unique clones of Chardonnay, including one known as 'Hens and Chicks'.
