2019 Badgley Family Vineyards Brut
Chardonnay, Pinot Noir · Sonoma County, California · USA
Producer Notes
Schramsberg Vineyards introduces the inaugural vintage of their Badgley Family Vineyards Brut. This sparkling wine is sourced from a 17-acre vineyard in Bennett Valley, with 7 acres of Chardonnay and 10 acres of Pinot Noir, established in 2016 and partnered with Schramsberg in 2018. Planted on volcanic loam soils and influenced by cool, coastal fog, the vineyard provides ideal conditions for vibrant, expressive fruit. The wine is aged en tirage for over four years. The 2019 growing season featured record winter rainfall, a cool spring, and a near-perfect summer, leading to high-quality, densely concentrated fruit. The wine exhibits a bouquet of Meyer lemon, lime, orange, kiwi, and cherry, complemented by honeysuckle, jasmine, and strawberry shortcake aromas. The palate offers flavors of nectarine, naval orange, and peach cobbler, intermingled with graham cracker, toasted almond, and brown sugar. The blend consists of 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir.
