Producer Notes

Named after Victoria's daughter and Colene's granddaughter, Adriane is an estate cuvée composed of specifically selected vineyard blocks/barrels that possess deep, concentrated flavors and a persistent finish. The aromas on this vintage of Adriane has touches of pepper, cinnamon, and dark cherry, with perfumed notes of violets, lavender, blueberries, nutmeg and thyme. The palate is focused and taught with fleshy dark cherry tones mingling with a hint of nectarine and a dash of bay leaf. The tannins are supple but firm and will support the graceful aging of this fantastic pinot noir over the next five to eight years.

Description

Coming from the Chehalem Mountains AVA, the 2021 Colene Clemens 'Adriane' Pinot Noir shows beautiful depth, tension and richness from this warm vintage. Wet stone and damp earthy accents mark this wine that shows a gorgeous core of red and black fruit flavors with excellent verve. Fragrant aromas of raspberries, cherry stones, potpourri, thyme and white sesame with saline undertones. It offers aromas of black cherries and rose petals, leading to a palate with layers of dark fruit, dried herbs, and a touch of cocoa. This Pinot Noir is impeccably balanced with a persistent finish. Intense and spicy, it has a mix of cranberry, plum and cherry fruit, with perfectly ripened tannins and overall balance. There's a bit of heat in a dark chocolate finish, and in general this young wine should continue to improve with a little more time in the bottle.
