Alta Maria is a small, artisan winery. Founded by 9th Generation Californian James Ontiveros, they strive to make the best wines possible in a very conscientious manner and employ organic and sustainable practices. Their wines are inspired by the old world regions of France and are classic examples of purity, balance and complexity.

The Alta Maria Sauvignon Blanc has a focused classic style, crafted from grapes grown in the cool, maritime-influenced climate of Santa Barbara County, California. Hand harvested at night, the whole clusters are pressed and fermented in a mix of neutral oak and stainless steel tanks to preserve its crisp, clean profile. It highlights notes of citrus, green apple, and tropical fruit, with a midweight palate, fresh acidity, and a complex mouthfeel with stony chalk and minerality. It's intended for those who appreciate a refreshing, fruit-forward style with a balanced finish.
